Texas Longhorns

Welcome to Arosfa Texas Longhorns.

Located North West of Rockhampton in Central Queensland.

Our association with Longhorns was purely accidental, but something for which we will be eternally grateful.

"Cowboy Saloon" aka "Tex" came to Arosfa in 2006 and caused many a raised eyebrow in the district, to say the least, as he made his home amongst our commercial herd of Droughtmaster X cattle.

Our first crop of Longhorn calves followed in 2007 and "Tex" proved our theory that he would make a perfect outcross for our Droughtmaster heifers.

Being so impressed with our first crop of calves we decided to buy in some purebred longhorn cows and see what we could achieve. The first calves out of these cows have arrived safely this season and we're more than happy with the results.

These wonderful cattle are certainly a pleasure to have around, not only for their wonderful colour and horns but also their great temperament.
